Seungwoo Je is an Assistant Professor at the School of Design, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where he leads the Immersive Design Research Group. His research focuses on VR/AR/MR, haptics, and TUI. His work has been published in top academic venues in HCI, including ACM CHI, ACM UIST, ACM DIS, IEEE ISMAR, IEEE TVCG, IEEE ToH, and IJHCI. He is also an award-winning designer, such as the If Design Award, and holds international patents (China, Korea, and the US). Abstract: In this talk, I will share and discuss how my ongoing research in XR/VR/AR, haptics, and TUI can turn what we imagine into experiences we can actually feel and explore. Through examples from my research, I will show how carefully orchestrating visual, haptic, and other sensations can reshape perceptions such as weight and presence and open new possibilities for interactive design. I will also share the future I dream of building, and I hope this talk becomes a moment for us to connect, exchange ideas, and inspire one another.
