AATG102

The act of projection is at the heart of cinema and media art. This theory and practice course explores the possibilities of the alternative exhibition for projected image and sound focusing on performance. Students will experiment with a wide variety of audiovisual strategies, complemented by related readings, screenings, and exhibitions. The technical, historical, and aesthetical aspects of the projected image and sound will be studied in order to reinvent cinema and investigate how the projected image can find meaning outside the black box of theaters or the white cube of galleries.
